Social Life Cycle Assessment Dashboard for Battery OEMs: A Bibliometric Approach to Data Collection and Industry Analysis
Overview:
My thesis addressed the lack of structured tools for assessing social risks in EV battery supply chains. I developed a Social Life Cycle Assessment (S-LCA) Dashboard that helps OEMs and SMEs collect reliable social sustainability data and align with global standards such as UNEP/SETAC, ISO 14040, GRI, and the SDGs.
Key Contributions
-
Designed a multi-layered data collection framework covering company level, worker level, and external stakeholder sources.
-
Developed a modular Excel dashboard with customizable questionnaires and scoring tables.
-
Aligned indicators with UNEP/SETAC guidelines, ISO standards, CSR frameworks, and the SDGs.
-
Compared dashboard coverage with existing S-LCA methods (e.g., Sánchez 2024), showing broader and more detailed social indicators.
-
Positioned the dashboard as a practical CSR and ESG tool, enabling companies to identify social risks and improve sustainability reporting.
Dashboard Guideline Video
This video is a step-by-step guide on how to use the Social Life Cycle Assessment (S-LCA) Dashboard. It explains how to collect and structure data, highlights the key features of the dashboard, and demonstrates how to navigate and adapt it to your specific needs.
